报告摘要:

Chiral liquid crystals (CLCs), such as the one-dimensional cholesteric liquid crystal (ChLC) and three-dimensional cubic blue phase liquid crystal (BPLC), especially BPLC in BPI or BPII phase, are typical soft hierarchical architectures with elegant self-organized superstructure and fantastic optical attributes. Endowing CLCs with photoresponsiveness and enables the ingenious photoactivated hierarchical architecture has profound significances on both fundamental sciences and practical engineering due to the features of non-contactable and remote manipulation by facilitate light irradiation. The comparability of both the helical pitch of ChLC and the lattice constant of BPLC with respect to the scale of light wavelength enables CLCs exhibit sufficient perspective optical applications. The real-time control and reconfiguration of such architectures by light stimulation leads to a readily modulation of the corresponding optical properties on demand, thereby inspiring the excited all-optical devices and systems.

In this presentation, we focus on our recent progresses on photoactivated CLC soft architectures, including a light-controllable helix in three-dimension, a controllable zigzag optical pattern as well as a light-reconfigurable cubic structure, and furthermore, the relevant optical applications on diffraction and laser emission are demonstrated.


报告人简介:

郑致刚,19824月出生。华东理工大学教授、博士生导师,国家优秀青年科学基金获得者、上海市青年科技启明星、上海市青年拔尖人才、上海市晨光学者、上海市青年五四奖章获得者。从事液晶态功能软物质材料与微纳光学器件研究。先后在中科院长春光机所、Max-Planck胶体与界面研究所、美国能源部肯特先进材料与液晶研究所从事学术研究工作。在国际上首次提出并实现了手性软结构光学材料的多维度操控和三维光子晶体软材料;并开发光、电可控、柔性可集成光子器件与系统。至今在国际顶级学术期刊NatureAdvanced MaterialsMaterials TodayAngewandte ChemieMaterials Horizons等发表论文57篇。获发明专利授权8项,其中美国专利5 项、中国台湾专利2项、中国专利 1项。 作为专家组成员参与编写软物质物理丛书 ——《液晶》分册、中国大百科全书光学工程分册液晶部分以及“十三五”规划教材——《液晶光子学》。 承担国家自然科学基金委、军委科技委、中科院及上海市课题共 12项。
